Qualification Levels
WDA believes in making WSQ practical and flexible to help Singapore's workforce grow and develop.
WSQ does this by allowing you to do bite-sized training modules at your own pace. Upon completion of each module, you will be awarded a Statement of Attainment (SOA). After obtaining the required number of SOAs you will then be awarded the WSQ qualification, which comes with a certificate, full transcript and the WSQ badge.

What is WSQ?
The Singapore Workforce Skills Qualifications (WSQ) is a national credentialing system. It trains, develops, assesses and recognises individuals for the key competencies that companies look for in potential employees.
WSQ is based on national standards developed by WDA in collaboration with various industries comprising industry sectoral frameworks which serve to:

• Professionalise the industry, particularly where recognition of Continuing Education and Training (CET) qualifications are lacking
• Improve labour mobility allowing companies in growing industries to easily recruit workers with the necessary skills whilst improving opportunities for workers to enter these industries.

The WSQ system is designed to be a practical, accessible and affordable launching pad for individuals to take charge of their own careers and advancement. It is also a powerful business tool for employers to access and maintain a skilled workforce as it enhances their competitive edge and advancing their businesses.

There are 33 Singapore Workforce Skills Qualifications (WSQ) frameworks.      Each framework is recognised by the respective industry

For each framework, an Industry Skills and Training Council drives the development and validation of skills standards, assessment strategies and training curriculum for the industry. Each council is represented by key industry partners, including employers, industry associations, training organisations and unions.

 

An industry competency map, which captures the type of skills needed in the industry. They are classified into: Employability skills Occupational skills and knowledge Industry skills and knowledge

Competency standards and curriculum The competency standards list the skills, knowledge and attributes needed to perform a job task and describe the acceptable levels of performance. The resulting curriculum guides the design of the training programmes and assessment plans.

Qualifications that reflect the skills acquired and lay the foundation for career-based training, upgrading pathways and skills recognition. The skills standards and training modules are organised into seven levels of nationally recognised qualifications ranging from Certificate to Graduate Diploma.

WSQ frameworks build up your skills in two aspects: foundational and industry-specific

Foundational Skills Foundational skills comprise a range of skills, knowledge and attributes that help every individual improve his/her employability.  These skills enable workers to better adapt to new job demands and a changing work environment. Foundational skills are portable across all industries. Employability Skills (ES WSQ) Employability Skills Executive Development and Growth for Excellence (EDGE) Workplace Skills Series (WPS) Workplace Literacy (WPL) and Workplace Numeracy (WPN) Series Chinese Workplace Literacy (CWPL)

Industry & Occupational Skills The Singapore Workforce Skills Qualifications (WSQ) industry frameworks cover skills that equip individuals with the know-how to perform specific jobs well. Industry players, training institutions and unions work together in the Industry Skills and Training Councils (ISTC) to identify the skills required in the industry and to develop the industry-specific WSQ. The ISTC also reviews the learning outcomes to ensure the framework remains current and relevant. Trainee will received allowance upto $1,000 plus from WDA

EMPLOYABILITY SKILLS (ES) Courses available:

1. Communicate & Relate Effectively @ the Workplace = 24 hours
2. Develop Personal Effectiveness @Operation Level= 24 hours
3. Adapt to Change=24 hours
4. Solve Problem & Making Decision@Operation Level=24hors
5. Demonstrate Initiative & Enterprise Behaviours=24hours
6. Work in Team=24 hours
7. Cultivate Service Innovation Mindset=16 hours
8. Promote Service Innovation Process =16 hours

There are a total of 176 training hours   ( 176 hours x $4.50 training hours = $792.00)
Plus Workfare and Training Commitment Award up to $400 per year.

BENEFITS TO TRAINEE:

• Trainee need to pay only $40 only for ALL the courses.  
• No other cost involves.   
• Must be working.
• Will also get Training Commitment Award (TCA) of up to $400 per year for completing the modules.
• Awarded 1 Statement of Attainment (SOA) for every one completed module
• 10 Statement of Attainment equivalents to an O LEVEL CERTIFICATE.

Session 1: 7PM TO 10PM - weekdays (2x per week)

Session 2: 7PM to 6PM – Every Saturdays
